While the baby sleeps...
Look what I made today!
It isn't really all that impressive, we are trying to work through some of our old food storage and I found I have a ton of cake mixes. Hence, Cake Cookies. These ones I didn't have a 1/3 cup measuring cup, so I added too much oil and they are really flat. I put a little icing in the middle and doubled them up. I'm also testing out my skills with icing tips. (I think most store bought icing is nasty by-the-way.)
I also took a picture of this:
for cuteness.
I especially liked the juxtaposition of these two good things I have made lately.

EASTER
Last year I found a Paas dye kit on sale that allowed you to create monsters. I just couldn't turn down the idea of creating little monster eggs to find. Turns out I must have known we were going to have a little boy all along :). We dyed eggs with the inlaws on Sat. I think these are a few of the really good ones.
The inlaws did an awesome job of filling up big eggs for us to find. Graham was the only little kid, but he was pretty good at finding those eggs if you ask me. Here we all are with our haul. (I ate most of Graham's candy yesterday... it felt sooo good to be so sick from eating candy ;) ).
We still aren't sure if there might be an egg or two hiding out in the back yard. Ojiichan says it is pretty normal to be mowing during the summer and have one or two fly out! I'm just hoping I don't have to smell it when/if it happens!
Graham's Baby Blessing / Birthdays!
FYI: this happened before the 2 month dr's visit! I'm just a slow blogger.
Graham had the cutest outfit my sister let me borrow! Unfortunately I never got around to doing a photo shoot. We did get a few shots of him on the day of:

Both the boys were not very excited, but Graham was a rock star for the blessing. Sean did a great job and didn't do anything wacky like name him Jehosifat.
We had a nice brunch at Grandma's big house, and both sides of the fam were able to come.

(p.s. Graham just woke up. typing with one hand is slow so pardon the short phrases and lack of capitals)
I turned 25 this year and had a weird birthday. My mom's present still hasn't shown up (if one of the clan took it there will be fireworks). I went to a lunch with the "clan" that really was for Sean's uncle (I was feeding Graham in another room while they sung happy birthday). We also did cake and ice cream with the inlaws (and again I was in the other room feeding Graham while they sung happy birthday). I did plan a bbq with Nater and got my own cake etc. I decided to go pretty unique for my own little dessert, and I made Nate, Kim, kids, and Sean sing to me during half-time of the BYU bball game.
(Yes, there is a giant donut on top.)
We also went out to Tucanos earlier in the month for Sean's, mine, and Sean's mom's bday. It was great, but all in all pretty weird. All my days seem to focus around Graham now... even my birthday... and I wouldn't have it any other way. He is the bomb. Sean's birthday was also pretty mellow and I didn't even get out the camera. He got a sweet leather jacket (that we had to send back to get the right size) and I forced him to go out to dinner even though he wasn't really hungry. (It's a rough life.)

Update
Ok so I finally got my most recent pictures off my SD card, and Sean's aunt is holding Graham... so I can blog!
Valentines was nice. Sean was busy all day, but we went out to Applebee's the weekend before. Graham and I made him a nice Valentines treat with Yoko on Valentines Day.

You can tell I had to sneak a few of these before I gave them to Sean!
Graham is a growing boy! He doesn't sleep quite as much as he used to, but his facial expressions are getting more and more hilarious.

He has started to smile when we tickle his little cheeks (if you can catch him awake)
but he still does it when he is passing gas, so who knows. He also is getting much better at following things with his eyes. His favorite thing to follow right now is Obaachan's face! He loves to watch her move around and smile at him.
Oh and I cut his hair. Well my mom, sister, and I all did a little work on him. I keep finding odd places where his hair sticks out, and Sean keeps finding little Graham hair all over where I have done some "trimming." I think he is looking better and better all the time, but it could be becuase he is finally filling out. Well Graham is gettin cranky so I'd best be off. But I am still completely enamored with this little man!

Babies are the Bomb!
Or at least my baby is the bomb! I have been so seriously lucky with this kid. I kind of find myself wondering why we waited so long to have kids.
My delivery was a breeze. Once I got the epidural I was basically delirious with relief and joy. I only had to push for about 40 minutes, and I got to watch the whole thing (kind of gross but very interesting to me). I did have to wait 45 minutes to hold little Graham while I was being stitched up, but once I did he latched great and has been a great eater since.
The hospital was a little dramatic. A nursery nurse scared the crap out of me by telling me she was pumping my baby's stomach. My hormones were out of control resulting in lots of crying. And I didn't get much sleep; the nursery timing is awful. I kept trying to time my feeding with when they said they would come get the baby so I could sleep for a good long time, but they never showed and I was too chicken just to take him down there. Once we got back home Graham would sleep like 6 or 7 hours a night (seriously, best baby in the world), which resulted in a lot less manic crying.
Moving was insane. I was super sleep deprived and we kept going back and forth about what we really needed to take. Once we got here I didn't have half the things I needed, and Sean wasn't really around (he kept going back to the old house and just staying there!). But we are here now, Sean comes back even though we are boring and watch too much TV, and it has been awesome to have a babysitter living upstairs so I can get out or get things done during the day.
I especially LOVE not working!!! I thought I would be super bored, but it turns out I love watching Graham. I love not waking up till 11, or staying in bed with him till noon (he does wake up every 2-3 hours now, but when you stay in bed till 11 it's not so bad). I love that the most important thing I do in a day is kiss my baby. I love trying to bath him and cuddle him so he will sleep longer. I even like watching him cry, because I get to see his little gums and funny white tongue. I have gone in to work for a few hours, and dealt with a few phone calls, but I've been off for 3 weeks and I'm thrilled to take at least another 7! I especially don't miss all the drama of working with 6 ladies who just moved offices and are not thrilled about it. :).
All in all I'm left with the impression that babies are great. Maybe it is becuase I have a mother in law to help me every day, or because I keep getting to go on vacations to Idaho, or because I have this beleif that my baby is absolutely freakin adorable even if he isn't very photogenic... but I'm very happy being a mom.

The Drama
Well folks...
Looks like I temporarily will get to say good-bye to this
lovely shag carpet,
and a whole lot of this
wood panneling. Because we are planning on moving!
Don't get too excited.
We are planning on moving into the in-law's basement apartment, temporarily. Isn't that what most extremely pregnant women want to do? Move in the last weeks of their pregnancy!? Oh and not move further from the in-laws, but closer??? And then in 4-6 weeks when we have sufficiently worn out our welcome, MOVE BACK! Becuase I hear that's what ladies with brand new babies also love to do, move.
So here's the drama: We asked Grandma if we could please not have anyone stay at the house during the month of Feb. It shouldn't have been a big deal, usually visitors are slim that month and well... if you can't think of any reasons why a somewhat unstable woman with a brand new baby would want to be alone in the house she lives in during the middle of the winter... you should just stop reading now. We figured most people would be understanding. WRONG. SO WRONG. 21. 21 people asked Grandma if they could come stay at her house throughout those very short 28 days in Feb! 21!!! I'm not a good enough person to be able to handle that. And worst of all.. UNDERSTANDING is the absolute last response I have gotten from most of "the clan". They cannot figure out why I don't want to share my tv, living room, kitchen and kitchen appliances, food, and cleaning supplies (oh and did I mention my brand new baby) with them while they come to visit. They need a gathering place and they refuse to go elsewhere. Plus it's not like it's my house, so why should I be making requests/demands like that?! ugh.
OK, they are right. It's not my house. We just live here and have been super blessed. And things, of course, will work out fine because the in-law's are divine and offered us their basement apartment to live in, temporarily. And their spare vehicle to use, temporarily. But I just want you to think for a moment of this:

moving a lot of boxes and baby junk. And then doing it again, 4-6 weeks later. Because when I think of it, it seems a little crazy.

Fabulous New Year's!!!
To be honest, New Years is usually a kind of "dud" holiday for me. It is just too close on the tails of a fabulously large holiday, Christmas. Plus the whole resolution thing... well that's a rant for another day. Despite it all, I had a WONDERFUL New Years this year. I got to leave work (drama drama drama), I drove up to Idaho (alone albeit), and spent time with ALL 7 siblings and spouses (mine was the only one missing)AND BABIES. This pictures is only missing little Ava Love Juicey Fruit.
But everyone was there! And while we were pressed for privacy more than space, I had such a good time. It was awesome to meet little Tanner Dean -
- loving on the cat is just not the same after feeling his little soft, pudgy little body. It makes me very excited to have my little ninja.
I didn't actually go sledding or snowmobiling. I blame the belly.
(Yes I got a new camera for Xmas and had to try it out on myself)
But I did walk outside for pictures and to go extreme shopping in West Yellowstone. We missed seeing the bears, but watched an awesome Imax film about caves (highly recommended). Seanypoo was unfortunately sick and unable to go. He was real nervous about making all those little babies and pregnant ladies sick. But I'm getting good at being the lone ranger for Waddoups family functions. Plus he was in Yellowstone just a few months ago:
We actually went back to IF New Year's Eve, and I had the option to drive home but chose to stay. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! We ate Cafe Rio, bought oodles of junk food, and stayed up playing Wackee Sixes until midnight. I may have missed out on fabulous Sushi in SF, but I had a sweet time trying to get "Wackee."
As far as the pregnancy goes.... I HAVE A STRETCH MARK. And it is in the most ridiculous place, right next to my belly button. I have been "buttering" up both sides, top and bottom of my massive belly but appparently forgot the belly button. And I know it is only there becuase "ninja" really likes to kick me right there. If he would stop kicking that one place, and simply kick elsewhere, I probably wouldn't have any stretch marks yet! I took a belly picture today, but I really just look/feel massive, so I'm posting like a second trimester picture and it is all you get!
I'll work on getting a better one before I'm due... 3 weeks !!!
